Atkinson Technical, the brainchild of Neville Atkinson, is a UK-based gas, water and energy consultancy which improves and advises on existing product design and invents new solutions and models to combat limitations and problems in domestic and industrial products, appliances and services.
As part of its services, Atkinson Technical also provides plain, simplified interpretations of complex directives and British Standards and Building Regulations, and highlights the main ones that are relevant for the industry or particular sectors.
The company also offers advice on industry patents and can provide bespoke sales materials and product manuals as well as reference ‘Hot Notes’ for onsite use.
Atkinson Technical aims to keep all content clear, simple and accessible.
Neville Atkinson founded Atkinson Technical in 2015 and works independently, with access to a team of freelance technicians for projects when relevant, and can also work together with clients’ in-house teams.

Neville trained at Hackney College and benefitted from the excellent knowledge, guidance and support of master plumbing craftsmen and lecturers such as Ken Daniels, Jeff Hammond and Brian Ivemy, who opened his eyes to the wonders of the world of plumbing. Several years were then spent with onsite training of apprentices before he became a lecturer at City College Norwich and then Great Yarmouth College, where he enjoyed a productive and successful 11 years as a teacher and verifier.
He has had personal success at patenting his own device and made important design improvements to existing products using his knowledge base and years of experience as a starting point for innovative thought and concepts.
In addition, Neville has provided personalised training to sales and technical staff at a number of businesses and designed and developed several research and training centres, helping to improve academic and company-level gas, energy and water education.
Neville is also the author of several academic textbooks. He has extensive experience writing training materials for academic bodies and for businesses, and manuals and technical literature for national companies.
